Death/Trauma Notification (1 day)
Techniques for Effective and Compassionate Response -Giving the notification, managing survivors and loved ones and performing job duties in the aftermath of death or trauma can be taxing on responding personnel. The goal of this 8 hour course is to make a difficult job more manageable and reduce the impact upon personnel in the aftermath. A broad understanding of death, the grief process and potential impact on survivors will be explored. .Specific intervention techniques will be addressed through lecture, discussion and practice. Tools for managing critical incident stress for responding personnel will be given. Taught by Janet Childs.
